Union Representative (Industrial Paint Staff)

Based in Houston, TX

Location: Houston Tx 
Organization: IUPAT District Council 10 
Position Type: Full-Time 

About the Role: 
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Union Representative to join our team and serve as an industrial paint representative. The Union Representative will be responsible for supporting and representing workers in matters of workplace rights, contract enforcement, and membership engagement. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Represent members in industrial painting shops, job sites, and facilities. 
• Enforce and interpret collective bargaining agreements. 
• Assist members with grievances, workplace issues, and contract questions. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with members, stewards, and contractors. 
• Support organizing campaigns and recruitment of new members. 
• Conduct site visits and regular meetings to ensure communication with members. 
• Provide training and guidance to job stewards. 
• Collaborate with the leadership team to strengthen union presence in the industry. 

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the industrial painting trade or labor/union work strongly preferred. 
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, grievance handling, and labor rights. 
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Willingness to travel to job sites and facilities as required. 
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
