Job Title: Surgical Assistant
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $50–$52 per hour
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Surgical Assistant for an exciting job in Cincinnati, OH.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons during operative procedures, including exposure, hemostasis, suturing, and instrument handling.
Prepare the operating room with proper equipment, supplies, and sterile instruments.
Position, prep, and drape patients in accordance with established surgical protocols.
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique throughout all procedures.
Anticipate surgeon needs and provide immediate intraoperative support.
Apply wound dressings, secure drains, and assist with patient transfers when needed.
Perform instrument counts, equipment setup, and safety checks.
Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure a smooth workflow.
Assist with postoperative tasks within the scope of practice.
Follow all hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience:
Prior experience assisting in surgical procedures in a hospital or surgical center.
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile technique.
Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and respond efficiently.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Certifications:
Completion of an accredited Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technology program.
Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), Certified First Assistant (CFA), or equivalent preferred.
BLS and/or ACLS certification as required.
