Registered Vaccination Nurses
Location: Indian Health Service (IHS) Gallup, NM 87301
Pay Rate: $45-50 per hour
Schedule:
40 hours per week
8-hour flexible day shifts
Day:7:30 AM 4:00 PM
Evening:10:30 AM 7:00 PM
Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
Contract Length: 3 months
Benefits: $5.09 per hour for health & Welfare, PTO, Accrued sick days, and paid holidays.
Job Description:
The Registered Vaccination Nurse provides clinical vaccination services and nursing support within an Indian Health Service facility. The role supports immunization delivery, patient safety, and compliance with federal, IHS, and nursing practice standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including adult and pediatric populations.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Valid, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
Responsibilities:
Administer vaccinations and perform related nursing care in accordance with clinical protocols
Complete required orientation, competency verification, and HealthStream training
Perform medication administration, IV therapy, and venipuncture as required
Accurately document patient care in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Follow EMTALA requirements and standard emergency response procedures
Apply nursing standards, pain management principles, and latex allergy precautions
Accept and carry out verbal and telephone orders per facility policy
Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and support unit-specific competencies
