Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager for our client's manufacturing facility in the Southwest suburb of Chicago. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management and a proven track record in optimizing operations to enhance efficiency and quality.

This role is pivotal in overseeing the production process, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of production operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Utilize ERP systems, to monitor and manage inventory levels, production schedules, and supply chain analytics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain management, engineering, and assembly to streamline operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments of plant management practices to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Provide mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure minimal downtime in production.
  • Train, mentor, and develop production staff to foster a culture of excellence within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean or Six Sigma
  • Demonstrated expertise in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement and quality control measures.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in plant management and team development.
