Pay Rate: Per-deliverable pay, benchmarked to about $55/hour at an average pace. Potential to maximize earnings by working efficiently.

Duration: November 2025 through March 2026, with option for contract renewal

About Us:

At the Modern Classrooms Project (MCP), we are dedicated to transforming education through our innovative, student-centered instructional model. We support educators in creating personalized, self-paced, and mastery-based learning environments. We are seeking talented Curricular Content Developers to support Modern Classrooms in an independent contractor capacity with creating high-quality instructional video slides for our curriculum development team.

Project Overview:

As a Curricular Content Developer, your primary objective will be to adapt curriculum-based math lessons into instructional video slide decks, complete with clear scripts that make complex topics accessible to students. These slides are designed to support teachers implementing the Modern Classrooms Project model as they deliver direct instruction to students through instructional videos. You will coordinate with designated MCP staff points of contact to develop high-quality video slides that align with our instructional goals. This project requires a strong understanding of instructional design, math pedagogy, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines. 

This is an independent contractor position, meaning you will operate your own business, set your own hours, and provide your services to MCP under the terms of this contract. You will not be an employee of MCP, and as such, you will be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and other business expenses.

Contractor Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze, and adapt existing math curricula to work effectively in a video format.
• Develop high-quality, visually engaging, and grade-appropriate instructional video presentation slides in Google Slides or similar platforms, incorporating animations and annotations.
• Write clear, conversational scripts that explain math topics in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Maintain consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all video lessons.
• Create guided notes and student-facing worksheets using Google Docs or similar word processors. 
• Develop additional resources as needed, including mastery checks, trackers, and exemplar videos.
• Collaborate with MCP staff to ensure all materials meet the required standards and objectives, and implement feedback provided by MCP staff for final materials. 
• Provide status updates when requested by MCP staff. 
• Meet deadlines as set and agreed upon with MCP staff.

Qualifications:

• Teaching experience in K–12 mathematics required
• Proven experience in curricular content development or instructional design
• Proficiency in Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, or similar platforms
• Experience in creating instructional video slides, digital learning resources, or other student-facing content
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts simply 
• Strong understanding of math pedagogy and how math concepts develop over time
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting progress
• Experience with the Illustrative Mathematics and Eureka Math² curriculum preferred, but not required
• Experience using Asana project management platform preferred, but not required
