Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney to join our team in Washington, DC or nearby Maryland suburbs. In this role, you will take the lead on complex family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, property division, and domestic violence cases. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a fast-paced and challenging environment with the opportunity to mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the continued growth of our practice.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and lead a significant caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft and review pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients at hearings, trials, depositions, and mediations.
• Provide strategic counsel to clients, ensuring compassionate and effective advocacy.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervise junior attorneys to maintain the firm’s standard of excellence.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Maryland (required); DC admission preferred or ability to waive in.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of family law experience, including substantial litigation and trial exposure.
• Strong legal writing, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to develop case strategies and provide high-level client service.
• Leadership skills and interest in mentoring junior associates.
