Position Overview
As Government Audit Manager, you'll oversee multiple engagement teams, provide strategic direction for complex audits, and serve as a trusted advisor to state and local government clients. This role offers hybrid work flexibility and competitive compensation ($140,000 - $167,000).
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple government audit engagements simultaneously
- Direct and supervise audit teams while maintaining quality control standards
- Ensure compliance with GASB, GAAP, GAGAS/Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships across public sector entities
- Mentor and evaluate staff members, fostering professional growth
- Review financial statements and deliverables for technical accuracy
- Manage engagement economics, including budgeting and resource allocation
- Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA license
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with focus on governmental auditing
- Extensive knowledge of GASB standards and governmental accounting
- Proven experience managing multiple audit engagements
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
